NozzTeq

NozzTeq introduces a new sewer or storm cleaning nozzle called the BL Swiper, patent pending for pipe sizes 8 to 18 in. The construction of the BL Swiper is made to optimize the cleaning effect by using both the water flow from the jets and air flow in the pipe. The water flow, through the pressure in the jets, creates a jet stream and the jet streams create thrust through a number of air channels. The number of air channels is equal to the number of water jets (i.e. a nozzle supplied with four water jets are supplied with four air channels). The channels are placed in the center of the nozzle, meaning that the total force generated by the nozzle, both air and water force, are used to clean the pipe cost-effectively. Tests performed with the BL Swiper has been determined that the flow rate can almost be cut in half, compared with normal flow needs. The pressure has a direct impact on the cleaning ability of the BL Swiper. By increasing the water pressure, the thrust power will also accelerate, decreasing the total cleaning time.

StoneAge Tools

The Warthog WV-1/4 is the newest member of the Warthog family. It differs from StoneAge’s other Warthog tools in that it features a revolutionary maintenance-free design, eliminating the need for field maintenance and replacing seals. You can expect the WV-1/4 to cut roots, clear grease, ice blockages and remove hard mineral deposits faster and more efficiently than ever before. This tool performs to the same superior standards as the entire family of Warthogs by providing a rotating head with impressive nozzles to clean the toughest applications. Simple, effective and requires no maintenance.

Vactor Mfg.

Vactor Mfg., one of the most trusted names in air conveyance and water and vacuum technology for nearly 50 years, has introduced the SXP (superlinear XL polyethylene) insulated water tank for the Vactor HXX HydroExcavator. The thermal water tank retains heated water temperature longer, reducing the likelihood of freezing during operation in sub-zero conditions and harsh winter weather. The lighter weight tank also reduces fuel consumption while increasing payload availability and hauling capacity. The 1,200-gal capacity SXP tank features a double wall design consisting of a 3/8-in.-thick outer shell and a 3/8-in.-thick foam liner. The industry-leading Vactor HXX HydroExcavator is versatile enough to handle potholing, waterline repair, slot trenching, directional drilling, sign and pole installation, pipe and line installation and other large-volume excavation.

CUES

Granite XP v.4 Pipeline Inspection Software now captures valuable data from sewer and stormwater cleaning, jetting and pumping vehicles (Vactor, Vac-Con, Pipe Hunter, Guzzler, etc.) to integrate cleaning activities with CCTV condition assessment operations for more effective coordination, management, and prioritization of labor and equipment. Granite XP software can perform Cleaning inspections with or without video collection to:

  • Create customizable cleaning code systems specific to your goals
  • Easily schedule CCTV inspections based on recent cleaning status
  • Prioritize which pipelines to do CCTV inspections upon based on the types of defects encountered during Cleaning
  • Coordinate, schedule and track pipeline Cleanings, repairs, grass cutting, shrubbery clearing, and other related maintenance activities all from one platform
  • Generate custom reports with estimated volumes of debris, footage per week, etc.
  • Export Cleaning inspection statuses and code observations to GIS maps (with the optional ESRI module)

RootX

The only negative impact that RootX has is on pipeline roots, not on the treatment plant or the surrounding environment. Registered with the EPA for use in both sanitary and storm pipe (EPA Registration # 68464-1) RootX is engineered to take the complexity out of chemical root control so that pipeline roots can be killed and pipe-flow capacity restored at minimal cost, training and environmental impact. If your sewer crews can use a sewer jetter or vacuum truck they can also successfully kill pipeline roots with RootX. Claim your own root control experts by including RootX in your maintenance program today.
