Westrade Group recently announced that its 2019 Trenchless Middle East event held in Dubai was a success. This biennial trenchless event has become the business hub for all those immersed in the Middle Eastern trenchless industry.
Exhibitors and sponsors once again remarked on the caliber of delegates and visitors attending Trenchless Middle East. Sales were brisk and plenty of future potential business opportunities were reported on from all sectors of the exhibition floor.
A highlight of the three-day trenchless event was the Keynote Address delivered by Dr. Sabih Khisaf, Head of Engineering Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region, Hyperloop Transportation Technologies. This space-age project, while still in its infancy, will morph into reality and provoked lots of discussion and debate among the delegates. So successful was the talk that Khisaf kindly agreed to come back and deliver it again to the student party.
For the second time, Trenchless Middle East featured a Student Programme in its agenda. A record 130 (double the number from the previous event) trenchless technologists of the future, gathered to marvel at the very best the industry has to offer and whet their appetite at future job prospects.
“It was a fascinating few days with a hugely dynamic atmosphere and we were delighted to have with us Jari Kaukonen, Chairman of International Society for Trenchless Technology (ISTT),” said Paul Harwood, managing director of Westrade Group. “A special mention must also go to the German STT for creating such an innovative and impressive pavilion where they shared with us all the latest and greatest innovations from Germany. A superb event was capped off with the announcement that plans are afoot to launch a UAE Society for trenchless technology.”
Attendees can already start planning for the 12th Trenchless Middle East 2021 which will once again take place at the Jumeirah Beach Conference and Exhibition Centre in Dubai. Dates to be announced in the very near future.
The success of the 2019 event is a testament to the understanding that Westrade has of the trenchless industry and explains why the event organizers maintain their status as world-leading experts on the subject. Westrade is the global event leader for the trenchless technology sector and organized the very first No-Dig Exhibition held in London in 1985. This event led to the formation of the ISTT in 1986 with whom Westrade have a close working relationship.
